Virtualization means partitioning one physical server into several virtual servers, or machines. Each virtual machine can interact independently with other devices, applications, data and users as though it were a separate physical resource. Different virtual machines can run different operating systems and multiple applications while sharing the resources of a single physical computer. And, because each virtual machine is isolated from other virtualized machines, if one crashes, it doesn’t affect the others. In addition to using virtualization technology to partition one machine into several virtual machines, you can also use virtualization solutions to combine multiple physical resources into a single virtual resource. A good example of this is storage virtualization, where multiple network storage resources are pooled into what appears as a single storage device for easier and more efficient management of these resources.
Virtualization can help you shift your IT focus from managing boxes to improving the services you provide to the organization. If you are managing multiple servers and desktops, virtualization can help you to save money, energy, time, and reduce desktop management headaches. For all of the upside virtualization isn’t magic, and it can introduce some new challenges. But in most cases the many cost and efficiency advantages will outweigh any issues, and virtualization will continue to grow gain popularity. Database Project
These particular project was probably the most difficult one I had to complete. What I had learned about this program previously is nothing to what I now know from this project. Before I started, I actually didn't know the specific tasks or relative functions for that matter, this program was used for. In my opinion, Access is far more superior that office, excel, and powerpoint due to the prodigious amount of functions this program enables anyone to do. Even after this project, I still don't even know how to work all the applicactions in the ribbons. Although, I learned how to take tables with supurfluous amounts of information and constrict it down to what certain areas are only needed to view, which could be extremely useful in so many ways.
Even though I feel this program is a useful tool, the reason I found it so difficult to learn is because the ways all the tools were laid out and the way you apply things seemed too complicated. I wish that the program was more user friendly, especially for those of us that are relatively new to its uses. I found Access similiar and completely different at the same time when comparing it to Excel. It has similiar layouts, like the way spreadsheets are viewed, but the way to access all of the tool in the ribbons and expanding upon a database becomes much more complicated than it needs to be. Hopefully, they will update Access in the future as a more user friendly resource.

Excel Project

This particular project was helpful and refreshing. A year ago I had actually taken a computer applications course, which dealt with learning the main programs by Microsoft Office. All of the tasks excluding the pivot tables I had already learned so it wasn't much of a challenge for me during the project. That being said, I found it refreshing because this project enabled me to use the tools I had previously learned and apply them for a specific purpose. The pivot tables were a great part of the project because it allowed me to learn and apply an extremely creative and useful tool within Excel. I can now see why businesses view this as a powerful tool, which can drastically save time and increase accuracy towards specified areas within the company.

WEB 2.0 TOOLS PROJECT
This Web 2.0 Project was no walk in the park, especially for those who have never done anything like this before. It had taken me the longest time to figure out exactly what to do and how to do it. First, I decided that my story was going to be on a prior vacation rather than a company, which was for me to show people a part of my life instead of an "idea." Drawing the storyboard did take some time, and I ended up using Microsoft Word because of my inability to draw at all. Afterwards, I chose Slide for my story because I wanted to incorporate a slide show of me and my girlfriend's photo's from our trip to Orlando, Florida with music. I like that people have the ability to leave comments on your story so you get more outside perspective.
Overall, I actually ended up enjoying the project because I learned so many new things. It was interesting to learn about all of the Web 2.0 Tools there are and how you can apply them to so many things. I never thought that I would ever incorporate these tools in means of interpreting my personal life. I know my topic was not business related, but I feel that due to everything that I have learned from this project, I can now apply in the future, especially business. Having the ability to create your personal advertising, presentations, and projects at no price would inevitably increase potential sales of a business. The cycles that are used in creating your end result are the necessities in which your ideas strategically come to life, because poor planning equals poor results.

Week 3: Clear
The internet is the most widely known and used resource in regards to shopping, research, advertising, or answers to just about any questions you may have. Now as simple as that may seem, depending on the subject of what you are looking for, going to any random search engine may not be the most helpful, unless you know the category for what each search engine is used towards. Each search engine is specifically designed under a certain subject, such as all-purpose, books, business, games, jobs, etc. The reason for this is so any user can find what they are looking for much faster and probably from a more reliable resource.
Understanding the criteria for web searching is vital in the business environment because if you are unable to locate specific information/answers in relation to your job, than how can one expect to last with a company. The internet is the most valuable resource a company has, and many would not survive without it. For example, Amazon.com is an online store that sells a multitude of products, which only relies on the internet because it has no official store, and if every employee was incapable of knowing what search engines would be best to advertise on to attract customers, then it would not be where it is today. By clicking on the title of this blog, you will be linked to a website that incorporates every search engine under its specified category. This site gives any user the ability to find exactly what they are looking for, as long as you choose the search engine that falls under that category you require.

Week 1: Muddy
Copyrighting is a predicated law that implements an abundance of rules and regulations so others may not claim someone else's work as their own. Although, many people across the world break this law on a daily basis inadvertently or by choice, and I believe many people would grasp the aspect of what exactly copyrighting is if they were actually taught what all the rules are. Now this may seem somewhat easy, but there are more rules to follow and understand than you think.
This particular section was not necessarily difficult to understand about what it is, but trying to remember all the rules and regulations seemed impossible due to the prodigious amounts set forth. If memorizing the rules were easy, then I wouldn't be writing this blog or providing the link to a website, which is accessible by clicking on the title of the blog, that supplies any and all subjects related to copyrighting. The following link will even tell you how to copyright your own material. I believe that especially students should use sites like this so they can get a better understanding about what you can and cannot copyright, because students need more than teachers telling them to site everything you write about. This would not only give them a better understanding towards writing papers, but to know this a real law that someone can be prosecuted for.
In closing, I would like to provide some insightful rules on permissible types of media that I never knew about or was taught in school so you can get a taste of how strict copyrighting is. First, in relation to illustrations or photographs used, you must know that you can use no more than five images from one artist or photographer, and no more than 10% or 15 images, whichever is less. Second, motion media can be used, but only up to 10% of the total or three minutes, whichever is less. Lastly, when using text material, you can use 10% of the total or 1,000 words, whichever is less. Understand though, this only applies as long as you provide a reliable resource thats credits the author or creator. Anyways, I hope this helps anyone in need of questioning on Copyrighting, and remember there is a link provided that can answer any questions you may have.
